Gustavo Cerati – August 11th 1959 to September 4th 2014
I’m going to start this post with what got me into Cerati in the first place. This image above. I saw the video (Te llevo para que me lleves) many years ago and I just loved his daft sense of humour and of course his voice. Even in his last videos, he’s still having a joke and being silly. This is how I’m going to remember him.
Well, I should have had something prepared for this post as I think we all knew in our hearts things weren’t going to get much better.
Though part of me never actually even contemplated that I’d be here writing about his passing. It’s weird as to the timing as I changed my profile pic on twitter from the Cerati one (below) to my own face for the first time in 4 years only last week.
A range of dvd’s I like to use as part of my fitness
I’ve been meaning to write this post for about a year. I’ve been exercising over the last 20 years on and off though in the last 2 years I’m so happy that I found ballet fitness and apart from a break 6 weeks ago from it (as I have been spring cleaning my home) I’m now back at it and so happy to be getting fit again.
It’s been awhile since I’ve blogged so I thought let’s start with some good old pancakes (pancakes, broccoli and mashed potatoes are my favourite foods – though not together!)
I love pancakes, with lots of different fillings, my favourite is melted chocolate and banana, with a splash of lemon. Pancakes are actually so easy to make, you just need a decent frying pan, I use a frying pan/wok type thing. It’s quite big, I prefer bigger pancakes as you can put more stuff into them and they look great when you roll them up.
Lots of different things dependent on what you like to eat. Here are my favourites, vegan of course, though you can add anything really as long as it will roll with the pancake : )
- Lemon, chocolate and banana
- Ratatouille, rice and beans
- Tofu, steamed veggies, buckwheat and pesto
- Ice cream, raspberries and some agave syrup (messy but wonderful)
- Frozen berries (warmed up so they are a pulpy goo)
- Cream cheese and herbs, tofu, leek and mushroom Continue reading

I’m sat here with lots of whirling thoughts in my head.. The moon is in Cancer today conjunct my Jupiter in my third house. (any astrology buffs out there know what that means) In plainer terms it means I’m moved to communicate (commune) deeply (Cancer is a water sign associated with feelings). The conjunction of Jupiter only heightens those feelings and expands them. The third house is to do with your local environment and communication. It’s easy for me to write stuff so all this blogging I do comes pretty naturally for me. I work in fits and starts and always on inspiration. I prefer not to force it as it just doesn’t feel good.
The name Easter is derived from the Saxon Eostre (Eastre) The Ancient Saxons in Northern Europe worshipped the Goddess Osetre at the time of The Spring Equinox. The Goddess represents the sunrise, Spring-time fertility and the renewal of life.
It’s been a long while just under a year since I’ve blogged on my scottishsiren blog. I’ve been happy to post pics on tumblr and various other places. But not here, I’ve just taken a break as there were other more important personal things that needed to be taken care of.
Taken care of… we all need that, most importantly being responsible for ourselves and taking good care of our own emotions and well-being.
I had a bit of an epiphany last night and trust me it was a long time coming.. Sometimes you just don’t see your own stuff even when it’s slapping you in the face.. Oh the joys of being aware and unaware!
I have a strong work ethic and when things aren’t working I tend to look at what’s going on inside rather than focusing on the what’s happening or not in the outer world. The answers are always within reach if you go inside yourself and listen. What I’ve learnt and is simple. Let it Be
Not too profound though it is actually much more than you first think.
I’ve neglected posting about Gus over the last few months and that will now be addressed
I’ve been so distracted by many other things
Today is international Women’s Day and I’ve posted this everywhere as it’s just so lovely
“Nunca creí en el machismo. Mi mundo está rodeado de mujeres. Todos vivimos gracias a una mujer. Su luz y su vida nos trajo acá, ¿Por qué debería minimizarlas entonces?…Al contrario, son más especiales que nosotros”. (Gustavo Cerati – Diario La Razón 1988)
Feliz día a esas amigas, hermanas, madres, abuelas! Feliz día mujeres! 🙂
