Spring – Taking care of yourself

I love lillies always have, maybe it’s the fragrance that hangs around my house for days, I can smell the aroma the minute I walk through the front door, it’s very welcoming.

Today has been rather lovely, I spent a lot of it under a tree reading a biography on Rimbaud by Graham Robb in the sunshine, quietly enjoying the first real stirrings of Spring.

I also love riding my lovely bike ( a Marin Point Reyes) as to get to this lovely secluded spot away from noise and people I needed to ride there, so I gathered up the essentials (a book,  a picnic of sandwiches (which funnily enough even had cucumbers in it… how delightfully British of me…) , juice, yogurt and ginger cake)

Happy like an ice cream cone in Summer ~ my love for essential oils

I love essential oils with an ultimate passion.

I found aromatherapy way back in the mid 80’s when I was living in London.

I found it by mistake really I was not looking for it or that particularly interested at first. I was much more interested in Astrology and was taking an evening class in Hackney with Wanda Sellar who is a fine astrologer and I was also about to find out a wonderful aromatherapist too.

So I joined Wanda’s class in astrology, I got to know Wanda quite well as I did quite a few classes with her. She asked me along to her aromatherapy class. So I went along not really knowing what to expect.

Well after a few classes she pulls me to one side and tells me I’m a complete natural and asks me to be her assistant. She helped me to see what I couldn’t which was an affinity for essential oils and a natural talent at massage.

Love and Inspiration

I have this picture (a very small postcard sized version) in a crude frame hanging in my hallway. I’ve spent countless years quizzing guests who have come to my home about who they think this is, more often than not most people don’t have a clue who it is. A few (and I mean a few… they know who they are) got it right first time.
