Gustavo Cerati – August 11th 1959 to September 4th 2014
I’m going to start this post with what got me into Cerati in the first place. This image above. I saw the video (Te llevo para que me lleves) many years ago and I just loved his daft sense of humour and of course his voice. Even in his last videos, he’s still having a joke and being silly. This is how I’m going to remember him.
Well, I should have had something prepared for this post as I think we all knew in our hearts things weren’t going to get much better.
Though part of me never actually even contemplated that I’d be here writing about his passing. It’s weird as to the timing as I changed my profile pic on twitter from the Cerati one (below) to my own face for the first time in 4 years only last week.
You can add it to your profile as just Cerati or do what I’ve done as my FB picture is quite long I’m sharing my pic with Gustavo 😀
Nice idea if you have Facebook, it’s called a twibbon a Get well Cerati pic, a show of solidarity for Cerati

☆Tú eres mi estrella Gus☆
★ ☆★ ☆★ ☆Leave a message as a star for Gustavo 🙂 One of my favourite words in Spanish is Estrellas (Stars), so I thought this post rather appropriate.
It’s great as this is lovely postive energy we are all sending to him for his recuperation★ ☆★ ☆★ ☆ Continue reading
High above, in the clouds on my way to Edinburgh ~ 26th June 2010
I should really be fast asleep, listening to my meditation cd on my Squeezebox, drifting into la-la land, but I’m here getting inspiration for a new blog post instead… the idea for this post came about by having a good day, it’s been a little while since I’ve felt one of those really well and today was it
It’s starting to come back the feelings of grace and gratitude within me, which is nice.
They are such lovely feelings, well really states of beingness as that’s where you are with grace and gratitude they are like sisters who are just close and you know that they get on like a house on fire. The appreciation of life I have is phenomenal and it helps me deal with all the stuff that crops up in my life. I know on a deep level that everything has an order even the chaos is an illusion and I do my best to hold steadfast and see the grace in all situations.
Gustavo Cerati performing in Caracas ~ Saturday May 15th 2010
This post was on hold for a few days while we concentrate on Gustavo’s birthday events
I’ll be resuming updates here as usual from 12th August xx
See comments for new updates – it’s updated regularly ♥♥
On Cerati’s Health Status:
I don’t post rumours or gossip, if it’s not official or from a close family member, it won’t be here. Patience and strength are needed! Gustavo is very ill and it will take quite some time for him to recover
I’m happy to post videos, blogs, stories, comments from fans and of course updates from friends and family members that celebrate him and encourage his recovery
Now Argentina is a wonderful place for great music, the first artist I want to talk about is Gustavo Cerati. He used to be in a band called Soda Stereo I like some of their songs but I absolutely adore his solo work much more especially the first album I heard Amor Amarillo, the songs from that album are amazing.
I love the way he weaves words to make songs that are more like poems, what I can understand and what I’ve learnt from others as I’m still learning Spanish and what I get from the feeling of the songs makes my heart sing; I’m so happy and grateful that I was introduced to him by a man whose perception and understanding taught me a lot; especially to appreciate and adore Cerati’s songs/writing. My favourite song is A Merced, there is something magical about that song, it just makes me really happy. I also love Amor Amarillo too and many others.
