Love Intensive Therapy for Gustavo Cerati

Grace and Gratitude

High above, in the clouds on my way to Edinburgh ~ 26th June 2010

I should really be fast asleep, listening to my meditation cd on my Squeezebox, drifting into la-la land, but I’m here getting inspiration for a new blog post instead… the idea for this post came about by having a good day, it’s been a little while since I’ve felt one of those really well and today was it

It’s starting to come back the feelings of grace and gratitude within me, which is nice.

They are such lovely feelings, well really states of beingness as that’s where you are with grace and gratitude they are like sisters who are just close and you know that they get on like a house on fire. The appreciation of life I have is phenomenal and it helps me deal with all the stuff that crops up in my life.  I know on a deep level that everything has an order even the chaos is an illusion and I do my best to hold steadfast and see the grace in all situations.

Eddie Cochran – 50 Years Gone

A beautiful Eddie Cochran

It’s 50 years since Eddie Cochran died in April 1960 in a car accident, aged 21, he died before I was even born so no chance of ever seeing him perform his music, oh to have a time machine like H. G. Wells (see his book)
I first noticed him in my teenage years through Marc Bolan of  T. Rex doing a cover of Summertime Blues, I read he’d carried Eddie Cochran’s guitar … lucky, lucky man! Eddie’s music is as popular now as it was 50 years when he died, I’ve selected some of the songs that I love the most, give them a whirl 😀

Mythbusting on the Small Scale (via Prometheus Baked)

Lovely article…just read it

Mythbusting on the Small Scale I’ve been reading rock critic Robert Hilburn’s book Corn Flakes with John Lennon, his nostalgic account of some poignant moments spent with rock n’ roll’s greatest legends. Whenever I read about the old musicians, the one story that revolves itself most often in my h … Read More

Great post, How overcoming fear can bring you closer to love You know something?  There really is beauty in imperfection. I was once a middle of the line perfectionist.  Everything in it’s place, clean, presentable, and organized just right.  If it didn’t look perfect, then what would others think of …

Mirror, Mirror

Ahhh Epiphanies great things they are, when the “baseball bat of Life” finally hits you and the jigsaw pieces actually fit.

I was listening to  Get it on by Grinderman this morning – Friday 28th May, just an ordinary day, nothing special as I was getting ready for work and then it suddenly hit me
It’s so bloody obvious and I already had the knowledge – I had used it before and had forgotten about it, how we all get so distracted by the drama of life ( I just needed reminding again, it’s great when you are clear and just know what the next step is)

On Cerati’s Health Status:

I don’t post rumours or gossip, if it’s not official or from a close family member, it won’t be here. Patience and strength are needed! Gustavo is very ill and it will take quite some time for him to recover

I’m happy to post videos, blogs, stories, comments from fans and of course updates from friends and family members that celebrate him and encourage his recovery

Digging Deep…

Dig, Dig, Dig

Moon in Pisces

Yvaine from the film Stardust

Success is getting what you want. Happiness is wanting what you get. Dale Carnegie

There is nothing much wrong with my life, I’m happy enough, got food on the table, roof over my head, a steady job and I have exciting projects on the go with my website, this blog, I get on great with my kids, family and overall nothing is really stressing me out… then I slammed my foot into a door and broke my little toe – clumsy girly (I don’t have any gory pics)

But there’s a restlessness, a sadness and a deep loss of connection, to whom/what or how I don’t really know; so I’m going to have to dig a bit deeper, to find out what the hell is going on Continue reading

Latin American Music – It’s not what you think Part 2

Gustavo Cerati

Argentina
Now Argentina is a wonderful place for great music, the first artist I want to talk about is Gustavo Cerati. He used to be in a band called Soda Stereo I like some of their songs but I absolutely adore his solo work much more especially the first album I heard Amor Amarillo, the songs from that album are amazing.

I love the way he weaves words to make songs that are more like poems, what I can understand and what I’ve learnt from others as I’m still learning Spanish and what I get from the feeling of the songs makes my heart sing; I’m so happy and grateful that I was introduced to him by a man whose perception and understanding taught me a lot; especially to appreciate and adore Cerati’s songs/writing. My favourite song is A Merced, there is something magical about that song, it just makes me really happy. I also love Amor Amarillo too and many others.
