My Love of Ballet Fitness

fitness dvds april 2014 A range of dvd’s I like to use as part of my fitness

I’ve been meaning to write this post for about a year. I’ve been exercising over the last 20 years on and off though in the last 2 years I’m so happy that I found ballet fitness and apart from a break 6 weeks ago from it (as I have been spring cleaning my home) I’m now back at it and so happy to be getting fit again.

A Bike, A Dress, A Zed, Permaculture and A New Blog

Busy, Jeez thought I’d never stop!

It’s great when things take off and move; more on why this happened so quickly later…
It’s good to get your feet under and really sort things out

I’ve always been an initiator, I like moving things along and I follow through sometimes it takes a while (lots of patience, faith and being a tad tenacious is important here) Though of late the moving part I don’t really need to do, which in my book is fab as it means a lot less effort on my part. How does it get any better than that? What else is possible?

Dress
I love it when things fall into place all by themselves and just seem to work out. One of my targets this year is getting fitter, never been really unfit, just wanted to be more toned and curvy; that’s been happening without me really having a proper fitness plan in place. This is where my new dress comes in… I love dresses, not really OTT flowery girly ones, just hourglass friendly shaped ones that make me feel like a million pounds. I haven’t bought any clothes for a while and I enjoyed buying my new dress; I’m not a huge shopping excursion fan, I prefer buying CD’s and wandering around market stalls and smaller vintage community shops/areas like Brick Lane & Portobello Road Market in London.

Spring Equinoxal Meanderings

Got the inspiration for this post from riding my bike the other day, it’s been quite chilly here and for some reason that I don’t quite understand I’ve always like my head covered when it’s cold –  I love hats, all kind of hats, berets are my favourite (note to self – find a shop that sells decent ones.) Maybe my mother instilled this into me when I was little as Scottish winters were sometimes quite fierce.

Me, my Mum and a dog

I was also walking down the street and actually took off my hat for good reason as it was actually too warm; the Spring Equinox is nearly upon us and I’m happy as the energy is changing again, the balance between night and day, the surge of new Spring energy is starting to kick in; coupled with a Full Moon in Virgo on Saturday 19th March (at its lunar perigee – closest to the Earth).  Here’s an excellent blog post about this Virgo full moon. It will be great for getting my hands in the soil and lots of practical work done. There is a lot going on celestially.

Spring – Taking care of yourself

Lillies in my Kitchen ~ April 2010

I love lillies always have, maybe it’s the fragrance that hangs around my house for days, I can smell the aroma the minute I walk through the front door, it’s very welcoming.

Today has been rather lovely, I spent a lot of it under a tree reading a biography on Rimbaud by Graham Robb in the sunshine, quietly enjoying the first real stirrings of Spring.

I also love riding my lovely bike ( a Marin Point Reyes) as to get to this lovely secluded spot away from noise and people I needed to ride there, so I gathered up the essentials (a book,  a picnic of sandwiches (which funnily enough even had cucumbers in it… how delightfully British of me…) , juice, yogurt and ginger cake)
