Lillies in my Kitchen ~ April 2010
I love lillies always have, maybe it’s the fragrance that hangs around my house for days, I can smell the aroma the minute I walk through the front door, it’s very welcoming.
Today has been rather lovely, I spent a lot of it under a tree reading a biography on Rimbaud by Graham Robb in the sunshine, quietly enjoying the first real stirrings of Spring.
I also love riding my lovely bike ( a Marin Point Reyes) as to get to this lovely secluded spot away from noise and people I needed to ride there, so I gathered up the essentials (a book, a picnic of sandwiches (which funnily enough even had cucumbers in it… how delightfully British of me…) , juice, yogurt and ginger cake)
Rose Otto (Rosa Damascena)
I love essential oils with an ultimate passion.
I found aromatherapy way back in the mid 80’s when I was living in London.
I found it by mistake really I was not looking for it or that particularly interested at first. I was much more interested in Astrology and was taking an evening class in Hackney with Wanda Sellar who is a fine astrologer and I was also about to find out a wonderful aromatherapist too.
So I joined Wanda’s class in astrology, I got to know Wanda quite well as I did quite a few classes with her. She asked me along to her aromatherapy class. So I went along not really knowing what to expect.
Well after a few classes she pulls me to one side and tells me I’m a complete natural and asks me to be her assistant. She helped me to see what I couldn’t which was an affinity for essential oils and a natural talent at massage.
I’ve been busy over the last week blogging and also thinking about all the good stuff to go on my website
I’m about to start uploading it then I’ll have a chat with my friend Nick who’s a web/graphic designer (Delazo is his company) to get everything moving so it’s all nice and pretty to look at
I’m getting quite excited as I’ve always wanted to do this and It will look fab once I’ve got the pictures up and text written
My Therapy Room
I sanded and varnished the floors myself!
I painted it with the help of my trusty assistant Ross (my son)
My room is nearly finished I just need to purchase a lampshade and some lovely voile for the window
